Winter Field

At the edge of a distant continent, a land perpetually blanketed in snow lies Oldenland, ruled by Archduke Giesel Zvendard. His cold demeanor, overwhelming magical prowess, and even the bizarre rumor that he carries the blood of monsters make everyone fear him. Yet few know that what Giesel truly desires is simply a peaceful daily life, immersed in magical research with a warm cup of tea in his quiet study. What shattered this modest wish was an unexpected bride from the southernmost tip of Cornia. Rensley Mallosen, the bastard son of Cornia, appeared wearing a bride's crown in place of his runaway sister. His brief attempt to hide, fearing discovery, was short-lived. This cheerful, chatty knight, his sun-like golden hair flowing as he roamed the castle, kept stirring up small disturbances in the ice castle that seemed destined for eternal silence. Even though he should have been driven out immediately for this fraudulent marriage, Giesel found himself increasingly unable to look away from Rensley, who beamed brightly and chattered away at even the smallest kindness. Rensley, who had been rejected from the moment he was born and ultimately abandoned, arriving in Oldenland, began to harbor affection for Giesel's seemingly indifferent yet kind demeanor. But the moment he became aware of his feelings, the time for parting drew near... To Oldenland, the coldest land on the continent, yet where the warmest things gather, will Rensley ever be able to return?(Source: Ridibooks, translated)
